Grace Banquet Hall in Greenfield is a very affordable facility with a fireplace, ample parking and a service kitchen. Photos on their website.
Wedding Central, in Greenfield, has opened their 3rd floor ballroom. With large arched windows and stained glass,
this room is historical elegance. Contact Mitzi at http://www.weddingsbymitziandshannon.com/id5.html
Riley Park Shelter in Greenfield, is an air-conditioned building that has a full kitchen, 2 fireplaces and room for 100+ guests with room for
dancing, this location is a bargain at less than $300! A stone gazebo is on the grounds, right on the river's edge for those
great photo ops! I understand this facility books fast in the summer.
Three of my favorite facilities are
thru the Lawrence Parks Dept. All are under $700 for the day:
-- Robt Sterrett Center in Lawrence (behind CVS on Ft. Benjamin
Harrison). See pics below. One bride held her outdoor wedding ceremony in the brick-wall enclosed courtyard and then moving
inside for the wedding. This bride got her church and reception hall for about $600!. The room will easily hold 100 +/- guests.
-- Louis Jenn Center on 63rd Street, this isolated cabin setting is on a pond with lots of shade
trees to help cool those hot summer days!
-- Community Center on Franklin Road, by the baseball
diamonds, this large community room is great for family and wedding gatherings, with plenty of parking!
These
facilities book up months and up to a year in advance, so if interested, contact them asap.
The Mavris Cultural Center, downtown Indpls, is a warehouse that has been converted to a gorgeous setting for any event, this location is a little pricier
than most, but when you see the facility, you’ll understand why.
Heartland Resort (website appears
to be down at time of this posting), located just minutes off of I-70 (Mt. Comfort Exit) rents for about $600 (at time of
this posting …with a private facility with a view of the beach.
Forest Park Inn, Noblesville IND is a beautiful facility in the midst of the Noblesville park system, which gives the kidees on your guest
list lots of things to do!! Beautiful views from the large windows! A grand fireplace makes a great background for the head
table!
Adaggios at Greenfield is a wonderful facility providing full services for any event.
St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield has a large facility that easily accommodates 200+ guests, and a full kitchen is available for your caterer.
While you may be getting married in one church, it is not uncommon to have your reception in the family
center of another church, so don’t overlook this option.
Craig Willy Hall at St. Louis
de Monfort Catholic Church located at 11441 Hague Road (Fishers) is one such option. For non-parishoners, the cost is a $300
refundable deposit plus $350 rental fee. This also covers access to the kitchen for no add'l charge. If you plan to serve
alcohol, you must go thru their Knights of Columbus organization (my experience with K of C's is that they are also very very
reasonable). Contact Amy via email at apayne@sldmfishers.org. The office number is 317-842-6778.
I found
a great place that is just starting to make it's facility available for wedding receptions. It's the City Market
in downtown Indianapolis. Ann McWilliams (317-634-9266, amcwilliams@indianapoliscitymarket.com) is great
to work with. Free convenient parking for your guests right across the street from this grand historical building in downtown
Indy. Depending on what services you need, this can be obtained for under $1000. Receptions I've seen are held on the 2nd
floor mezzanine, a large area with green-house type windows so you can see the sites of Indpls during your celebration. You
will love this one!
Are you or your groom military? If so, you may check the local Armory's or National Reserve
Centers in the area. Some have restrictions in that they rent to military only but some do not.
On the east
side of Indy is the Community Life Center. This is a grand facility and you will be surprised at how very
affordable it is! You can obtain additional info at their website at www.clcindy.com.
Pendleton, Indiana, has a great parks system that boasts two facilities for only $150/day.
Each building includes restrooms, a kitchen with stove/oven, microwave and refrigerator, tables and chairs. Contact
the Pendleton Parks Dept for booking information: http://www.town.pendleton.in.us/parkset.htm (Details on the facilies at this link: http://www.town.pendleton.in.us/Falls%20Park%202008%20Rental%20Building%20Information.htm )
The Knights of Columbus facilities can be one option for you. I recently catered
a wedding in the one at 10th and Post on the east side of Indy. The rental fee for 4 hours is $390 (plus tax) and that includes
your cash bar and bartender. There is a good sized dance floor, also. All beverages must be purchased from them, but unlimited
fountain drinks are $1.00 per person. Kitchen use fee is $125 (we require this fee to be paid by the bride if Cater It Simple
provides your reception buffet). Contact Dot Fulmer at 317-891-0849.
Knights of Columbus, Greenwood 695 Pushman Road, is a facility large enough for 350-400 guests for a very reasonable price. You have the option of using
their in-house caterer or bringing in your own caterer. There is a kitchen use fee for the use of their full size kitchen.
Photos are on their website.
The Boys Club in Greenfield is another option if you are planning a large reception
and I understand the rental fee is very very inexpensive.
Indiana Statehouse, Indpls Wanting to wed at the Indiana Statehouse? To hold your wedding inside the Indiana Statehouse takes some
planning as it books up quickly. Here's some basic information if you are interested:
- Contact the Department
of Administration at 317-232-3150, Tracy Jones, Manager. - There are no private changing rooms available. The bridal
party should arrived at the statehouse already dressed for the wedding. - The statehouse is open to the public so be
prepared for onlookers at your ceremony. - The statehouse can be used only for the ceremony...no reception facilities
are available. - No open flames are allowed (so instead of a Unity Candle, you may want to plan a Sand Ceremony - see
our FAQ page for more information on what this is). - Chairs are available but you are responsible for set-up and tear-down. - You must provide your own minister or officiant. - At the time of the publishing of this information, there was no
fee charged for the use of the statehouse, but this could change at any time..
I hope this small listing
helps you get started. If you contact any of these facilities, I only ask that you tell them Cater It Simple referred you
(we just like to keep track of who our best advertising is!). If you had your reception is a great location that you’d
like to share with other brides, drop us an email and we may add it to this list.
